By learning how to deep breathe, you can curb your negative feelings that you have after an anxiety attack. People that learn how to breathe deeply will have more relaxed muscles and more coherency due to increased oxygen intake. It is important to master the technique of “breathing in” as it must go through your nose and not your mouth After you have taken a breath, hold the air in your lungs to the count of three. You need to count from one to five when you exhale your air. The exhaling technique that many people use is similar to blowing through a straw when you exhale your air. By doing this, it will help you feel better as your stress is relieved.
Start doing some research. Many times, the reason for our stress is because we do not possess all of the information that we need. What happens then is that the imagination takes over and starts inventing situations and scenarios. If your imagination works in this manner, then your stress level is going to go through the roof. Finding the missing information will make things better for you. Ask questions. Read some literature (if any exists). The more accurate information that you possess, the less your brain will function to fill in the missing information, which will decrease your stress level.
Get a pet. It has been shown that people that have pets in their homes generally have lower blood pressure and are not as worried about things as people who do not have pets in the home. The unconditional love that exists between an owner and his pet contributes to a lower stress environment.
If you do not have the energy to take care of a large pet such as a dog or cat, you can select something that is small like a fish. It has been shown that swimming fish can help to reduce your blood pressure and help you to relax. Pets are good for the soul. When you are under a lot of stress, don’t you think that it would be good to provide reassurance for your soul?
It takes a while to learn how to cope with psychological stress. Stress is not easy to handle. It comes from all sorts of sources and manifests itself in lots of different ways. Figuring out that it is psychological stress is one of the first ways of handling it and being able to let it go. Keep in mind that it is fine to get help for stress. Everyone has to get help at some point, so do not let this scare you away from taking the right action.
